Xavier Pages is appointed General Manager for the Codorníu Group

Pagés belongs to the 17th generation of the owner family and stands out for his international vocation, which is the strategic focus of the Group for the next years to come.

The Codorníu Group Board of Directors has recently named Xavier Pagés as the new General Manager.

Pagés, born in Barcelona in 1957, married with four children, is a Business Administration graduate from ESADE and has earned an MBA from IESE and International Marketing from Harvard.

With more than 20 years in the company, Pagés started his career path as Area Manager for the Codorniu Group in the United States. He was later appointed International Business Director until 1992, during which year he became CEO of Codorniu USA. He combined this position with the President of the California winery, Artesa. Since 1999 he is President of the Group’s Argentinean winery, Septima.

Xavier Pagés is a member of the owner family and belongs to the 17th generation; he stands out for his international vocation, which is the strategic focus of the Group for the next years to come.

The Codorníu Group is a private business with 909 employees. It is one of the leading wine and cava companies in the Spanish market with nine wineries in Spain, one in Argentina and one in California. Currently they are consolidating the huge expansion carried out during the last couple of years with the incorporation of six new wineries, converting Codorníu into a household name in wine production.
